James and I are flying home on Friday!  We did the same in July, baby and I fly home and stay a bit, then Paul joins us and we all drive home together.  It’s one less 12+ hour drive for the little one, and I get a little longer with my family (and they get more time with the one and only grandson!)

We’re flying Air Canada, it was cheaper than WestJet.  Too bad, they were so super nice last time.  The flight is later too, which means no 4 am wake-up which is good.

Hopefully the little man will be just as good as he was last time, although I don’t expect him to sleep the whole time again!

I can’t wait, diapers are in the wash and I’m stacking cute little clothes in piles.   James is beside himself, of course.  Mom sounds more and more excited every time I talk to her.  I feel so bad living so far away, like I’m keeping their grandchild from them 😦

But Yay!  A week or two at home!!

While cuddling on the couch, my son stuck his tongue up my nose.

In other news, we had a lovely time at our friend’s wedding, it was James’s first!  He was so very handsome and stylish in his new sweater vest!  We left at about 10:30 when it seemed a meltdown was very near.  He was pretty good considering the noise, teething (of course) and lack of naps.  James especially liked dancing with all the ladies!

I know, weird shadow.  I don’t know where it came from :p

He found a delicious new drink, as well!

I can’t believe it’s the end of September!  James and me are flying home at the end of the week for Thanksgiving!  I’m so excited to see my family again, it’s going to be wonderful, and Grandma is so excited to see her little grandson.  He can’t wait to show off his new tricks, either.  His particular favourite right now is sticking his feet up in the air, grabbing them in a sort of infant triangle, then tipping onto his side.  Looks boring to me but he can’t get enough of it!

So here’s my short menu plan for the week!

Monday – rice and lentil casserole (I love this, and haven’t had it in ages!)

Tuesday – Italian sausage, potatoes and carrots (we have loooots of carrots!)

Wednesday – Pasta with pesto

Thursday – Paul’s home, he can make it

Friday – Home!  Mom and Dad are cooking 🙂
